Strap end or buckle frame
with leaf terminus

Object
: Strap end/buckle frame?
Culture: Medieval. 14th-15th century
Country/Area of Origin: Britain. UK
Material: Bronze
Size: 32mm length
Weight: 3.46g

Notes: Sold as buckle, but I think this may be the bottom part of a open work strap end which is broken. There is no evidence of an apeture or wear and tear for a pin which would be evident with a buckle, although this is no means certain. There also also no piercings for attaching to a strap. Leaf motif terminus.
Possible insignia
Brooch or harness fitting?

Object: Military insignia/brooch?
Culture: Roman? Medieval?1300-1500
Country/Area of Origin: England
Material: Bronze
Size: 45mm high
Weight: 11.53g

Notes: Solid cast object with two posts on the rear side presumably for mounting. Like nothing I've seen anywhere. Very similar item sold on ebay as "Medieval Equestrian Belt Fitting Decoration ALS 106". Sold to my daughter as "1300-1500 Medieval brooch" which it isn't.
